Az újépítésű családi ház teljes áram- és fűtésigényét fedi le a 25 db monokristályos panellel és Fronius inverterrel dolgozó rendszer. A napelemeknek köszönhetően már a beköltözés pillanatától kezdve szinte teljes mértékben emissziómentes lett az energiaellátás.

A 3 kW-os napelemes rendszer látja el árammal a teljes épületet, mely Gábor lakástakarékpénztári megtakarításából valósult meg. Így egyrész nem kellett hirtelen nagy összeget mozgósítani, másrészt az évek óta gyűjtögetett pénzt az otthona fejlesztésére tudta költeni.

A napelem modulok ellenállnak az Európában “szokványos” jégesőknek, azaz a néhány cm átmérőjű jég nem okozhat kárt a strapabíró üveglapokban (erre a gyártók garanciát is vállalnak), ugyanakkor nem árt számolnunk az extrém időjárási jelenségekkel, amelyek által esetlegesen okozott anyagi kár ellen az épület/lakás biztosításának a napelemekre történő kiterjesztésével készülhetünk fel.

Hazánk adottságai a napenergia-hasznosítás szempontjából kedvezőbbek, mint sok európai országé: az évi napsütéses órák száma átlagosan 2000, a beeső napsugárzás éves összege pedig 1300 kWh/m2. Az érkező napsugárzás szempontjából legkedvezőbb adottságokkal az Alföld bír, az északi és nyugati határ menti területek mérsékelten jók. Érdemes elgondolkoznunk azon, hogy az ország területére éves szinten napsugárzás formájában érkező napenergia közel 400-szorosa az éves energia felhasználásunknak.

A technológiai fejlődésnek köszönhetően a napelemes rendszerek hatásfoka és ára is egyre kedvezőbb. A Magyar Energetikai és Közmű-szabályozási Hivatal (MEKH) adatai szerint a napenergiát hasznosító háztartási méretű kiserőművek teljesítménye 2008-tól 2013-ig, azaz mindössze öt év alatt közel 86-szorosára nőtt országos szinten (363 kW beépített teljesítményről 31 120 kW-ra).

A tetőket úgy tervezik, hogy a vastag hótakarót is biztonsággal elbírják. A napelem modulok tömege ehhez képest jóval kisebb, valamint nagy felületen oszlik el (kb. 15-20 kg/m2), így nem veszélyezteti a tetőszerkezet stabilitását.
